Technical Infomation

What are the sheds made of thank’s?

When a steel insulated door is manufactured and a window is to be inserted in the door (i.e. French door, patio door) the manufacturer must cut the center of the door out in order to insert the window. This creates a cut-out panel approx. 35″x22″. This panel has 28 gauge metal on both sides as well as 1 3/4″s of R12 insulation sandwiched in the center. We receive these new panels and through a process we developed, the panels are cleaned, grooved, and interlocked together to make our shed.

Is the recycled panels used material?

No. the  panels we use comes from brand new steel doors.

I read that you use recycled, or left over metal sheets, or something to that effect. Can you explain?

Yes, our sheds are made from panels generated as a by-product of the outside Steel Door Industry. Each insulated panel is a 1¾ inch block of R12 foam insulation sandwiched between white powder coated & primed 28-gauge galvanized metal that we re-cycle into the basic building-block of our product line. This process can be better explained in one of our videos located on our home page.

I noticed that the windows in the studio on the website that seems black/tinted… do you have windows that are clear?

Yes, we can supply full lite clear windows. Windows and other accessories can always be added later.

Has anyone put in a small wood burning stove in one of your buildings?

Yes, many of are clients have wood burning stoves in there units. To install one you would use the same codes as you would for any building.

I’m looking at adding on to a mobile home. Would you recommend this product for that use?

Yes, our buildings are used in a variety of different applications such as backyard studios, cabins, workshops, commercial and agricultural storage structures and much more. The finished product is a versatile insulated metal structure that is amazingly strong, virtually indestructible, and ideal for residential and commercial storage. It is especially suited for use in the urban forest-interface zone as the structure is impervious to fire.

I would like to know how the seams of the sheet metal that make up the walls are sealed, and how rust-proof are the walls?

The panels are inter-locking, like Lego. The video on our Assembly will show you how they are made to inter-lock. We also have two other videos on the Assembly page that will show you how the walls are joined together at the corners, etc. The sheds are powder coated with white primer on  28-gauge galvanized metal, they will not rust and will give you years of maintenance free service.

Does the roof come with a covering or would that be my responsibility?

No, we supply the roof with the shed. It is made from the same panels as the walls and floor.

Is a permit needed for a shed?

It is unlikely, as they are portable. Sometimes the larger sheds may require a permit, it varies from municipality to municipality.

How does the roof hold up to lets say 3 feet of wet snow, will the roof and walls support it?

The roof is made out of the same 28-gauge galvanized metal panels as the walls. Our sheds are amazingly strong, virtually indestructible.

Can I walk on the roof?

Yes, the roof is very strong.

How wide is the door that comes with the shed?

A standard single door is 39″ wide.
