What You Need

  1. Drill with #8 Robertson bit
  2. Metal Snips
  3. Tape measure
  4. Step ladder
  5. Level
  6. Gloves
  7. Extra pair of hands

How You Do It

If you ordered a floor, lay the two sections down in the desired location. Butt the two sections together and screw together using the two wide flat strips.

  1. Stand rear gable up on the outside edge of floor. (Floor within the walls)
  2. Butt either of the side walls up against the end of rear gable.
  3. Check that both are level.
  4. Ask your helper to stand inside the corner and hold both pieces steady while you measure, snip to length and screw the outside flashing to the outside corner.
  5. Make sure everything is flush from the top of the wall and gable to the bottom.
  6. Repeat on other side.
  7. Fasten the front gable to the front of the walls
  8. With all four walls secure and level, remove the board from the bottom of the door.
  9. Open door for access (and to let your “helper” out)
  10. Measure each gable incline and cut the 90-degree angle flashing to fit from the end to the peak.
  11. Screw the flashing to the gable end, inside and out, making sure the top of the flashing is flush with the gable incline. (The roof panels are screwed to the flashing.)
  12. Repeat at other gable.
  13. With your helper, slide a roof panel up the gable ends, with the uncapped section at the top
  14. Have your “helper” hold the roof section in place while you measure 4″ at the front and back for the overhang
  15. Anchor the roof with one screw along the outside flashing edge at the front and rear gables.
  16. Now your helper can let go and help you secure the roof to the inside and outside flashing.
  17. Repeat for the other roof panel
  18. Secure the 90-degree and 45-degree flashing inside the shed.
  19. Separate the U-channels and cut to fit with the pre-cut piece on the front roof section
  20. Repeat on the other side of the roof
  21. From your ladder, screw on the ridge cap and any trim you couldn’t reach from the ground.
  22. Caulk roof seams with clear silicon for additional water protection.

Some Helpful Hints

  • Make sure everything is square!
  • If you make your own base, the outside dimensions must be the same as the shed.

Additional Information

  • Windows can be added any time. Ask us for details.
  • A block of wood is in the door so you can attach a hasp and lock.
  • Supports for shelves should be screwed into the seams for better support.
